And now to Granny's house

We had a Sunday lunch of Granny Roast, at EB's request, which means just the way Granny used to cook it, not the way I do now! Granny helped me snap green beans.
After Sunday lunch of Granny Roast, we decided to make the famous, Grandmother Cake, which was actually first made by Grandmother, Granny's mother. EB, Lisa, and I labored in the kitchen as you can see here. But the oven nearly did us in. It seems the inside thermometer is pretty accurate, so it really is 350, at least when you start. But it doesn't hold its temperature very well. It continues to rise! We rescued the cake just in time, but we still had to scrape off the blackness from the bottoms of the layers. If you get enough chocolate frosting on, it doesn't matter if it's a little burned!

What do you think Granny thought about the cake?

And one final shot of the Offensive Oven, which is no more.
